Typing and writing practice

TODAY:
Do you think it is easy to spend too much in the US?  What are good ways to avoid spending too much?
Here are some of my ideas:

I love shopping for clothes. Sometimes, when I have been shopping a lot, I give myself a "mall break."  I don't go to the mall.  Instead, I take a walk or call a friend. I tell myself I need to wait at least two weeks before I go to the mall. Also, I stop and take a look in my closet and drawers, and try to find something that I haven't worn for a long time. That is a good way to remind myself about how much I ALREADY HAVE!
Another way I avoid overspending is to only buy things on sale.  If I see something I like, I know that if I wait, it will usually go on sale later.

TYPE at least one paragraph from the "Spending too much" story on your blog.

What are your favorite things about summer?

What do you like about summer?  Please write about it in your blog.
Here is Liz's example:

I love summer!  One of my favorite things about summer is the long days.  When I finish work at 9:00 it is still light out. Then, I can take a walk. On weekends I sit outside and enjoy the cool summer breeze in the evenings.  I also feel grateful for the sunshine we have - it lifts my spirits.  On weekends, I can easily spend time outside near lakes or in the mountains.  Summer in Seattle is not too hot and not too cold.  I feel lucky to live here.
